Rebates, Incentives, and Special financing
A.J. Michaels is a Maryland Home Performance with Energy Star Contractor, a BGE Smart Energy Savers Program Participating Contractor, and certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI). As such, we can offer rebates, incentives, special financing, and services that very few other air conditioning and heating contractors can do.
Best of all, AJ Michaels will do all rebate and financing paperwork for you.
Rebates
Heating/Cooling/HVAC
Up to $6,000 in total rebates for the installation of a new home energy system are available through Carrier, Maryland and the federal government.
$600 in rebates are available for the installation of a new boiler.
Water Heaters
Up to $2,000 in rebates are available through BGE Smart Energy Savers and EmPOWER Maryland that typically offset the cost of newer water heater models as compared to a standard electric water heater. All that is required is a home energy audit to be performed.
Whole Home Duct Sealing (Aeroseal)
Duct leakage is a significant problem in most homes. This loss is significant. Rebates up to $750 are available for duct sealing when combined with a home energy audit and home performance shell measures.

BeSMART
The BeSMART Home Loan Program provides financing to improve the energy efficiency and comfort of your home. Parameters include:
- Maryland homeowner
- Credit score of 640 or greater
- Debt to income ratio that does not exceed 50%
- Rate is 6.99% APR
- Up to $30,000 in financing is available for energy efficiency measures for a term up to 10 years.
- Minimum loan amount is $5,000.
Clean Energy Advantage (CEA) Loan Pilot Program
CEA offers Maryland residents a convenient and affordable financing option for residential energy improvements. This includes heating and air conditioning systems, water heating systems, windows and doors, whole home insulation and weatherproofing, regardless of income level.
